The students, working in teams, determine three possible solutions, at least one of which is organically acceptable, for pest management and to prevent further crop destruction. A comparison of options should be provided, including cost and environmental risk assessment. Through their research, students learn about ecology, symbiotic relationships and agricultural engineering.
